*** January 3, 2011 Chapter Meeting *** (Turtle's in Shakopee)

- Rob volunteered to report on MRF to the chapter. Thanks, Rob!
- Kurt volunteered to look for and consolodate information on a chapter tent to be used for the Rally. Thanks, Kurt!
- Michelle volunteered to head up the chapter Fund Raiser committee. Thanks, Michelle!
- Committee meetings for the Fund Raiser will begin at the February meeting 1/2 hour before the regular meeting (committee at 6:30).
- We voted to renew our Sustaining Membership in MRF.
- We are looking to update the Tri-County web site. Please let Monte know if you have any recommendations. We hope to have something up in a few months.
- Ron shared that for the State Rally, he is looking for someone to head up Security and Sponsorship.
- Nominations for chapter officers were accepted. We will continue to accept nominations at the February and March meetings, then will vote for Chapter (and State) officers at the March meeting.
- Gerry will schedule a hay ride for late February. More information to follow at the February meeting (and noted here).
- We are going to support an Experienced Rider Course (ERC) this summer! Frank is checking to see if we can schedule July 7 for the class. More to follow.

- Legislative Focus - Our focus this year is on the increased penalties bill. This will add a gross misdemeanor as a sentencing option for judges between the current misdemeanor and felony options

News:
- ABATE U lineup is firming up. Reserve your room now! April 27-29
- BOD will be held Janary 21 at St. Cloud
- Rally will be 1 week earlier for 2012 - August 24-26
- Our focus this year is on the increased penalties bill. This will add a gross misdemeanor as a sentencing option for judges between the current misdemeanor and felony options
- MN now offers vehicle interlock for first time DUI with 0.16 BAC or above or second offense. No options currently exist for motorcycles
Next (December 6) meeting:
- The chapter will purchase pizza for the meeting
- We will again have a White Elephant Gift Exchange - bring one / get one!
- All are invited to bring cookies / brownies / etc. to share
Other News:
- MNPAC sends thanks to Tri-County for our contributions from the fund raiser

Reminder - Bikerday At The Capitol is February 8, 2011. Mark your calendars!
Minnesota Safety Advisory Committee is being restructured as an Advisory Task Force - not a good thing, will probably have less impact
Increased Penalties Bill - SF201
- More groups are signing on to the increased penalties bill - We are gaining momentum
- It is important to call your senator for support of SF201
- The bill needs to be pulled from the table in the Senate, amended to include injury/crippling and get passed.
Other News:
We will have a discussion regarding our gambling license in January - to apply for it or to hold off
Fund Raiser - good attendance this year, all had a good time
Roadside Pickup - 9 showed up, we are done for the year! Thanks to Paul and Gerry for pulling this together!
